The District Development & Planning Board ( DDPB) of both Tseminyu and Kiphire districts held their meeting cum Advent Christmas celebration on December 11 and 12 respectively.
Tseminyu: Tseminyu District Development & Planning Board cum Advent Christmas was celebrated at DC conference hall, Tseminyu on December 11.
According to DIPR report, chairman DPDB Tseminyu, Jwenga Seb, in his welcome address, said the main purpose of the board was to serve the people and urged the members of the board to discharge their duties with dedication and commitment.
DC Tseminyu highlighted the last meeting minutes and declaration of tobacco free zone offices in all the government departments under the district. Informing that fishing, hunting and liquor are being banned, he said it can only be achieved through the church and people’s participation. The program was chaired by Mhomo Tungoe, ADC Tseminyu.
The program commenced with invocation prayer by Dr Asano Sophie, SMO Tseminyu followed by a congregational hymn, “Hark the herald angels sing” and Scripture reading by Sentimenla Pongener, DPO Social Welfare Department.
Special number was presented by Mhathung Ngullie, EAC Tseminyu. Wasenmo Apon, principal BHSS, Tseminyu shared the word of God. The program culminated with a vote of thanks pronounced by Meyikokba Jamir DPO & member secretary DPDB, Tseminyu.
Kiphire: The Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting cum Advent Christmas was held on December 12 at Zungki River, below Phuvkiu Village shortcut footbridge, under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer.
According to DIPR report, the deputy commissioner extended Christmas greetings to all the board members present and appreciated all departments for their valuable contribution towards the successful conduct of government’s programmes and activities in the district.
The meeting also featured felicitation programme for the ‘District’s Official Logo Design Competition,’ where Sheshak Yimchunger was declared winner. The Kiphire District Official Logo Design Competition was held on December 6 and was organized by the district administration.
A cash prize of Rs.500 along with citation certificate was handed over to the winner by the deputy commissioner, Temsuwati Longkumer.
EAC Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen highlighted and explained in detail the salient features of the winning Logo Design, which incorporates key symbols representing the district identity as the ‘Land of Minerals’ and it’s natural and cultural symbolism, including Mount Saramati, Hoolock Gibbons and rivers of Kiphire.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by ADC Kiphire, Longdiba L Sangtam which was followed by Advent Christmas celebration program chaired by Nzanthung Yanthan DFO (Fisheries), Kiphire.
