17th Music Awards of Nagaland unfolded with a resounding showcase of the state’s vibrant music scene, here Wednesday at town hall, Dimapur.
With a clear “dress to impress” vibe, the night brought together artists, producers, and music lovers to honor excellence across genres.
In the rock category, The Electric Cool Kid won for the song “Walking Through the Fire.” The pop category award went to Nikato Y. Tamang for “Tu Jo Mile,” while the hip-hop and R&B category was claimed by Savizo for “War Cry.” In the gospel category, the award was shared by Tumcho Tutu for “In Your House” and The Hill Brothers for “Kulayite (Redeemed).”
The open category winner was Joseph Konyak featuring Easter Konyak for the song “Love Tumse.” The folk fusion category was won by the Tetseo Sisters for “O Soneko,” and the regional category award went to Veto Zhimo for “Küxü Kithe Boqha.”
The Song of the Year honor was awarded to Hentok Konyak for “Kenlak Nang O Ute.” The Best Music Video award went to SEASONS for “Thute Tho Chele,” directed by Seyie Intrepid. Kevi Pucho received the Best Producer award for “Golden Crown” by Ruopfu Chutso, while Infinite Records Kohima won Best Sound Engineer for “God’s Design” by BOW.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Merang Jamir of Aries Music Foundation in recognition of long-standing contributions to the music industry. The Viewers’ Choice Award went to The Hill Brothers for “Kulayite (Redeemed),” and the Best Upcoming Artist title was awarded to Senthan Pearl Ezung.
