Nagaland: Phek DPDB holds Advent Christmas celebration

MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, on December 16, challenged government officers to be committed to their duties and bring social reformation.
As a government servant, we need to perform our duty truthfully, responsibly and do justice,” he said while addressing the Advent Christmas celebration of District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) at Phek town.
Urging officers to serve the people with love, compassion and care, he stressed on the need to exercise accountability and transparency in one’s dealings.
“It is very important to be guided by the Bible,” he told the officers and asked them to take Bible as their “best teacher, best advisor and best professor.”
Touching on Christmas, Azo said “Jesus Christ has brought to this world true love.”
In this, he told the gathering to spread the message of love and reach out to underprivileged people.
MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero also shared Christmas greetings.
Dr. Vezhoto Soho, associate pastor, Phek Town Baptist Church shared Christmas message.
Phek deputy commissioner Rhosietho Nguori also addressed the gathering.
The programme was led by Dr. E. Mhonlumi Lotha, chief veterinary officer Phek, while Avo Rhakho, district evaluation officer, Phek, invoked God’s blessings.
Nurile Chizo presented a special song while Christmas carol was led by Balong Phom, EAC Phek. Phek Town Council (PTC) chairperson Shevohu Nienu also joined the celebration. The programme also witnessed gift exchange and Christmas feast.
