Nagaland: CAKYO, AYFD flay firing, abduction at Aoyimkum

DIMAPUR, DEC 22 (NPN)

Chakhro Angami Kuda Youth Organisation (CAKYO) and Ao Youth Forum Diphupar (AYFD), in separate statements, have strongly condemned the firing and abduction that took place at Aoyimkum village on the night of December 15, 2025.
In a press release, CAKYO expressed deep concern over the incident and said that “criminal intrusion” into a private residence by armed individuals was “an appalling and inexcusable act.”
The youth body said that such conduct stood in complete violation of the law, of basic humanity and of every principle that defined a civilized society.
During this season of joy and peace, CAKYO said the use of weapons to “assert dominance is nothing less than criminal intimidation.” It added that such actions eroded peace, undermined social harmony and violated the fundamental values of human dignity and the rule of law.
The organisation maintained that repeated occurrence of such crimes, coupled with the absence of visible accountability or conviction, raised grave concerns.
CAKYO has, therefore, urged the responsible authorities to take immediate action; lest the silence and inaction threatened to normalize fear and embolden criminality.
CAKYO has also extend support to collective efforts against “such anti-social elements” and affirmed solidarity with the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO).
AYFD: Ao Youth Forum, Diphupar (AYFD) also strongly condemned the recent armed raid by underground cadres in a residential area, during which firearms were discharged, injuring innocent civilians and spreading fear among residents.
In a press release, the youth forum described the violence as “brazen” and “utterly unacceptable. It asserted that that no one had the right to take the law into their own hands, storm properties, terrorise families, or endanger public safety.
AYFD extended solidarity with the injured victims and affirmed that such reckless disregard for human life must end.
The forum demanded that all matters be handled exclusively through legal and constitutional means.
The youth body has urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, hold perpetrators accountable, and prevent recurrence.
AYFD emphasised that peace, rule of law, and citizen safety cannot be sacrificed. The forum called upon all sections of society to reject violence and uphold justice for lasting harmony.
