Nagaland: Tizit’s first public library opens with 800 Books

DIMAPUR

Tizit’s first-ever public library, the EPN Library, has been officially opened to the public. Owned by Pongba Konyak, the library houses over 800 books, all available to rent free of cost.
The collection spans a wide range of genres, from fiction and non-fiction to competitive examination guides, elementary books and Christian literature.
The idea of establishing the library was conceived when Pongba observed the limited availability of reading materials for youth in the area. Motivated by this need, he built the library from scratch using his own savings and contributions from friends and family, with the aim of promoting reading habits among young people.
More than just a reading space, the EPN Library also offers free coaching for underprivileged students and guidance for graduates preparing for competitive examinations. Pongba has expressed plans to expand the library further and welcomes contributions of books, whether old or new. For details or contributions, interested individuals may contact: +91 8638928480.
