Kohima Old Boys, Kohima Legends and Lhomithi have registered their respective wins at the ongoing Senior Masters League (SML) season 3 on December 19 and 21.
Nzon CC won the toss and elected to bat, posting a total of 122/7 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Kohima Old Boys chased down the target with ease, reaching 123/4. The innings was anchored by Meren Jamir, who played a commanding knock of 75 runs, ably supported by Vitoshe Yeptho with 19 runs to ensure a controlled finish. For his match-winning performance, Jamir was named Man of the Match.
In another match, Chumou Veterans opted to field after winning the toss, but Kohima Legends put up a formidable 186/6 in 20 overs. Tapito Thupitopr starred with a fluent 74 off 48 balls, while Chumben Patton (38) and Moasosang Angh (30) provided valuable contributions.
In response, Chumou Veterans faltered against disciplined bowling and managed only 111/7 in 20 overs. Nsamyibe (32) and Visakolie Sechu (19) attempted to steady the chase, but the target proved too steep. Kohima Legends sealed a dominant win, with Thupitopr earning the Man of the Match award for his decisive all-round impact.
In the second match on December 21, Lhomithi, after winning the toss, chose to bat and posted 108/8 in their 20 overs. Contributions came from Nezam Uddin, Sentimeren, Yanpothung, and Wapang Zong.
Essa Warriors, in reply, struggled against a disciplined bowling attack and were restricted to 85/7. Despite resistance from Michael, Rakesh, and Sentongkaba, the chase never gained momentum. Lhomithi’s bowlers—Peter, Sudama, Toni Achumi, and Yanpothung—delivered outstanding spells to secure a hard-fought win. Peter was named Man of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance.
