Advisor of CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, has mooted the idea of starting a “family week” during seasonal holidays, emphasising the importance of proper family planning in areas of health, education, economy, farming, business and other sectors.
Speaking at the 72nd general session of the Thenyizumi Students’ Union (TSU) held on December 23 at Thenyizumi village, Phek district, under the theme “Empowering minds to be future frontiers”, Khamo said the festive season is a time to draw closer to God, foster better understanding and spread the message of love and affection. He stressed that a well-structured family plan contributes to overall growth and social well-being, while urging students to cultivate a positive mindset and become assets to society.
Gracing the session as honoured guest, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, Superintendent of Police, Phek, encouraged students by stating that “nothing is impossible in this world.” She highlighted hard work and dedication as the only route to success, and underlined the purpose of education, stressing the need to translate that purpose into reality for a progressive society.
Vepozoyi Theyo, president CAPO and head GB Thenyizu, also exhorted the gathering. TSU president Aveto Resu delivered the presidential address, while the programme was chaired by TSU general secretary Kehuzhoyi Resu. Acknowledgement of dignitaries was led by Akhruvolu Lucy Dawhuo, assistant general secretary TSU.
