A one day training programme on Scientific Duck and Poultry Management cum Distribution of Inputs was conducted on December 23, at ICAR–KVK, Hailakandi, Assam. The programme was conducted by ICAR–National Research Centre (NRC) on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland, in collaboration with ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Hailakandi, under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) of ICAR–NRC on Mithun.
A total of 176 participants attended the programme, including 94 male and 84 female farmers. As part of the SCSP intervention, 50 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries were provided with ducklings, chicks, and poultry feed to support livelihood improvement through scientific poultry and duck farming.
The programme also focused on creating awareness on G RAM G Scheme (Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission – Gramin) and highlighted the importance of Kisan Diwas, emphasizing the role of farmers in rural development and food security. The initiative aimed at capacity building, income generation, and sustainable livelihood enhancement of farming communities.
