Nagaland: Kangtsüng Baptist Arogo celebrates Centenary Jubilee

Kangtsüng Baptist Arogo marked its two-day Centenary Jubilee Celebration on December 27, under the theme “Nüchi Yimyim”, a tribute to 100 years of Christian faith, growth, and service. The milestone event celebrated a century of the church’s journey, reflecting on the deep roots of Christian teachings and the village’s transformation over the years.
Executive secretary of the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM), Rev. Temsu Jamir, speaking on the theme “Tsungremi ya tashi len aniogo,” emphasized God’s unwavering faithfulness throughout the church’s century-long journey. He reminded the congregation that every milestone achieved was a testament to God’s constant presence and guidance. “God has never forsaken His people,” Rev. Jamir stated, urging everyone to be thankful in every situation, reflecting on God’s enduring grace.
The opening session featured a reenactment by the Dimapur Kangtsüng Kaketshir Telongjem, which depicted the early arrival of Christianity in the village. The performance illustrated the sacrifices made by the pioneers and the gradual growth of the Christian community in the region.
Earlier, the service was chaired by director, CEF, Gurugram Rosellen Jamir. Short speeches were delivered by chairman, Kangtsüng Village Council, Takameren Longkumer, Rev. Dr. M. Rongsen, Mokokchung Town, pastor, Sapangya Baptist Arogo, Rev. Meren Jamir, T. Imna Pongen, and chief Angh of Wangching Village, A. Kemang. The centenary souvenir was officially launched by, Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo, pastor Rev. Dr. Imsutoshi. Speakers for the two-day celebration programme also included, Senior Pastor, Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo, Rev. Sentisashi and Pastor, East Dimapur Baptist Arogo, Rev. Jongpong Imsong.
