Phor Sporting Club (PSC) held its jersey dedication ceremony at Phor village under Meluri district on December 27, ahead of the forthcoming Golden Jubilee celebration of Phoyisha Area Sports Association (PASA).
Speaking at the programme, PASA president T. Pili Thupitor lauded PSC for its consistent performance, noting that the club has dominated PASA football tournaments for the past three years. He attributed the success to the dedication of the players and their faithfulness to God, while encouraging them to remain committed, aim for individual prizes in tournaments, and strive for selection in higher-level cups and clubs. Thupitor also urged senior players to guide and motivate younger athletes for a stronger future.
Delivering the exhortation, former PSC captain Thomas Pichurii challenged players to reflect on whether they were pursuing football merely for namesake or as a serious career. Citing examples from the Nagaland Super League (NSL), Pichurii highlighted how players were well paid and rewarded for individual performances. He urged athletes to set clear targets, maintain discipline, and turn football into their “daily bread.”
The jerseys and kits were dedicated by officials, followed by a prayer led by pastor Solomon of PCRC. Earlier, the programme was chaired by PSC coach Apfiita Thupitor, with a special number presented by PSC ladies and invocation by assistant pastor Rutachu of PCRC.
