Nagaland: Akami Clan 2nd general meeting held at Losami

The Akami clan held its 2nd general meeting on December 29 at Khumboda (Edau Valley), Losami village in Phek district. A total of 361 Akami clan registered in the meeting from six villages- Krowemi, Chizami, Chutsami (Kharasom), Losami, Losatephe and Pholami.
Deputy secretary & transport officer, Kohima, Kiezo Akami, and Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NLSA), member secretary, Neiko Akami, hosted the general meeting.
In his address, Kiezo Akami advised the clan members not to misbehave or indulge in any illegal activities which may bring shame to the clan, rather encourage to do good things and bring laurels to the community.
While encouraging the aspirants to work hard, he added that it has being 34 years since it first meeting and it will be a shame not to have any IAS or other prestigious officer in its 50th year’s celebration.
Neiko Akami urged leaders in every field, whether pastors, deacons, community figures, or government servants to discharge their responsibilities with honesty and sincerity, reminding that such integrity will bless generations to come. He encouraged the aspirants of various competitive exams to dedicate and work hard as the competition is too high and no backdoor appointment is possible.
He emphasized the importance of technical subjects, noting that they are equally vital and can provide great advantages. He further urged parents to refrain from harmful habits that hinder their ability to guide their children, cautioning, “You cannot expect a good generation if you do not do well.”
Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC), mission director, Rev. Dr. Kowepe Akami, asked the people to respect their grandparents and urged clan members to avoid disputes over collective ownership of land and resources. He further encouraged families to build God-centered and good family.
Losami Akami clan, chairman, Wekhahi Akami, praised God for the blessings and growth of the clan. He highlighted the first general meeting held 34 years ago, when members from different villages used names such as Teno and Kanuo before Akami was officially adopted in 1991.
He narrated stories and histories link with the Akami clan in villages of Chutsami (Kharasom), Pholami, Krowemi, Chizami and Losami. He also added the history link to Akami clan in middle Khomi Village. He blessed the Akami Clan and advised them to stay united, maintain peace among the clan, put God first and refrain from taking bribe in any form.
The programme was chaired by Kedukhahi Akami, invocation by Wewutso Akami, and vote of thanks by Mesete Akami.
