Nagaland: GPRN/NSCN busts sex racket in Dmu

DIMAPUR, JAN 4 (NPN)

Further indicating that Dimapur area is rife with illicit activities in-volving sex rackets and prostitution, two local girls were rescued and a non-local arrested for trafficking after the Crime Control Cell(CCC) of GPRN/NSCN intercepted an organized sex trafficking racket on the evening of December 29,2025 in an around Dimapur.
According to the MIP of GPRN/NSCN, ministry of kilo(home)affairs, camp Khehoyi , the oper-ation was conducted by its CCC based on specific and credible inputs. During investigation, MIP said one person identified as – Fazul Haque of Baragram, Assam and presently residing in Dimapur was arrested for being involved in sex trafficking, harbouring and sexual exploitation of victims.
On interrogation, Fazul Haque confessed that he along with one Mohit Uddin, resident of 7th Mile, Chümoukedima were regularly engaged in sex trafficking activities. MIP said it was also established that an Alto tax bearing registration number- NL-07T-0770, owned by one Babul of Singrijan, was repeatedly used for carrying out flesh trade.
However, MIP said while the operation was ongoing with strict adherence to due procedure and investigation, certain persons lodged a complaint with Dimapur Police who claimed association with the arrested accused and the seizure of the vehicle.
MIP clarified that the complaint appeared retaliatory in nature and intended to obstruct proper investigation and dilute the seriousness of offences related to human trafficking. It asserted that all actions taken during the interception, rescue and arrest were supported by evidence and would be produced as and when required.
MIP has also cautioned that any false or misleading objections aimed at shielding traffickers or discrediting anti-crime operations would be dealt with strictly as per the Ahza of GPRN/NSCN. It also urged the public and responsible authorities to cooperate and refrain from entertaining or spreading misinformation.
GPRN/NSCN reaffirmed its commitment to curbing criminal activities and anti-social elements, particularly those involved in exploitation of the local populace.
It may be pointed out that as per earlier news reports, most of the pimps or racketeers involved were non-locals while the victims were mostly local girls from the state, some in their early teens.
On October 14, 2025, the NSCN (I-M) UT-I personnel apprehended a 31-year old non-Naga au-to driver for alleged sexual abuse with two local minor girls.
In addition, there are reports of several so-called night clubs or discos across Dimapur that are open till the wee hours of the next morning. According to earlier media reports, many minor girls and boys frequent these places which serve as meeting places for alleged flesh trade.
