A Farmer–Scientist Interaction Programme was organised on January 4, 2026 at Mirem Village, Pakur Village and Partung Mithun Farm in Arunachal Pradesh by ICAR–National Research Centre (NRC) on Mithun, Medziphema, in collaboration with the Jomolomogku Mithun Farmers Federation.
The programme was led by the Director, ICAR–NRC on Mithun, accompanied by a team of scientists, District Veterinary Officers (DVOs) and progressive Mithun farmers. The team visited all three locations and held interactive discussions with local farmers on Mithun health management, breeding, conservation and scientific rearing practices.
During the interactions, the director stressed the importance of strong farmer–scientist linkages to enhance productivity and ensure sustainability of Mithun farming. Farmers actively shared their field experiences, challenges and indigenous knowledge, making the programme highly participatory and informative.
