Nagaland: State-wide Police constable recruitment drive kicks off

DIMAPUR, JAN 7 (NPN)

The Nagaland Police’s state-wide recruitment drive for Constable (GD) posts kicked off on January 7 across multiple districts, witnessing enthusiastic participation from thousands of aspirants vying for limited vacancies. The recruitment rallies, being conducted simultaneously at designated centres, mark the beginning of a rigorous, transparent and merit-based selection process, a DIPR report stated.
In Wokha district, the recruitment process commenced under Wokha DEF, with candidates bearing serial numbers 1 to 1000 appearing for medical and physical standard tests on the first day. As per the schedule, these tests will continue till January 9, followed by running tests and written examinations from January 10 to 13. Superintendent of Police Wokha, Relo T. Aye, addressed the aspirants at the public ground, urging strict adherence to protocols.
At Mon, the recruitment rally began at Mon local ground and will continue till January 16. The programme opened with a prayer service in the presence of senior police officers and district administration officials. On the first day, 511 candidates underwent medical and physical efficiency tests.
A total of 6,121 candidates have applied for 166 posts allocated to the district.
Meanwhile, Zunheboto district saw 2,648 candidates competing for 102 posts at the Police Reserve Ground. Of these, 2,397 were male and 251 female candidates. The rally will run till January 10, with the written examination scheduled for January 20 at Government Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto.
At NAPTC, Chümoukedima, the first day of the recruitment rally for Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts began with women candidates and Angami male candidates undergoing physical and medical tests. The rally will continue till January 13.
In Peren district, the rally is being held at the 9th IR Battalion Camp, Saijang, to fill 50 constable posts. A total of 217 aspirants appeared on the first day.
At Phek, recruitment began at the 5th NAP Camp, with 2,741 candidates applying for 103 vacancies. Senior police and district officials supervised the process.
Officials reiterated the government’s commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment process across all centres.
