A free medical camp and health awareness programme was organised by Nature SBI Foundation at New Monger village under Seyochung area on Wednesday.
The team focused on key health topics related to communicable diseases and cleanliness, particularly issues affecting rural communities. Discussions covered mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria, tuberculosis prevention and treatment, the importance of handwashing and home sanitation, and the need to stop open defecation to improve hygiene.
Seven villages along with Seyochung town participated in the camp.
Speaking at the event, Muwali T. Sangtam, president of Seyochung Area Students’ Union, expressed gratitude to the foundation team for bringing medical support to the area. “Our people have nothing to offer in return, but may the good Lord bless your work,” he said.
Longtili C. Sangtam, project lead of Nature SBI Foundation Nagaland, appreciated the community’s response and said the turnout was encouraging. He also thanked the Seyochung Area Students’ Union for their support in organising and coordinating the programme.
Residents received free health check-ups, medicines and guidance, while also learning practical ways to keep their communities safe and clean. The programme concluded with encouragement for more such collaborations in the future to build a healthier Seyochung region.
