The 44th Asetkong Kaketshir Telungjem Mungdang – AKTM General Conference commenced on January 7, at Kobulong, Mokokchung, with advisor for Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer as inaugural guest
In his address, Longkumer asserting that history show no nation, no community and no individual becomes strong by accident, he said strength gains its momentum slowly and is gradually built by persistence and effort without derailing from its vision. “The flame of strength always starts with a small spark,” he said.
He underscored that the AKTM has chosen a befitting theme “Pei Ketmung Ajanga Litetba Shisashir,” (Educated and Financially Independent) while echoing that it is not just a theme for discussion but it is a direction for life.
Reflecting on economic dynamic growth of Japan and Korea with limited resources at their disposal, he urged the student community to invest in discipline, education and collected efforts to become a self-reliant society. “Wait to become powerful before acting,” he advised the students.
Stating that self-reliance is not about size of the wealth but it is about the mindset, he urged the delegates to take responsibility for their future by building skill, encouraging enterprise and refusing to remain dependent.
He further urged the students to become intellects who understand efforts today that create freedom tomorrow to emerge as self-reliant citizens who creates an ecosystem to emerge as self-reliant society.
