Nagaland: Preparation for PAWA wrestling meets 2026

KOHIMA, JAN 8 (NPN)

The Phek Area Wrestling Association (PAWA) has started massive preparation for its 29th Senior & Under 15 Wrestling Meet 2026, scheduled for January 10 at Phek Town.
The event will be managed Khutsokhuno Baptist Church in aid of the construction of new church building.
MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, will be the special guest while Commandant, 39th Assam Rifles Phek, Col Iqbaljeet Singh Dhillon, will be the guest of honour.
PAWA president Chikhozo Chizo informed that in senior category, the champion will fetch a cash prize of Rs. 1.10 lakh while runner-up will be awarded with Rs. 70,000.
A cash prize of Rs. 50,000 has been set for third prize. The 4th position holder will get Rs. 40,000.
Quarter finalists will get Rs. 5000 each.
In Under 15 category, the champion will get Rs. 30,000, while 2nd position holder will get Rs. 20,000.
The 3rd and 4th position holders will get Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
