Nagaland: Nerhema Youth & Sports Organization holds 71st wrestling meet

DIMAPUR, JAN 7 (NPN)

The 71st Wrestling Meet of the Nerhema Youth & Sports Organisation (NYSO) was successfully held on January 7, 2026, at Nerhema village.
The opening ceremony was graced by Councillor of Dimapur Municipal Council, Neingutoulie Kengurüse, while the closing ceremony was attended by PS to the chief minister, Government of Nagaland, Rükravolie Rülho.
A total of 28 wrestlers competed in the senior category, where Thejavizo Merhieso emerged as the champion. Kevimhalie Chadi secured the first runner-up position, while Kekhriesizo Merhieso finished as the second runner-up.
In the junior category, Vilhousielie Kiewhuo was declared champion. Razousetuo Rutsa took the first runner-up spot, followed by Zhoviu Semou as the second runner-up and Sedevilhou Vimerha as the third runner-up.
The event highlighted the rich tradition of wrestling in the community and provided a platform for young and senior wrestlers alike to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.
