Nagaland: NWA team departs for 13th AITWPF National Championships

DIMAPUR, JAN 8 (NPN)

The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) team on Thursday departed for Goa to participate in the 13th All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF) National Championships scheduled to be held from January 9 to 12 in Mapusa, Goa.
The team will compete in belt wrestling, while Naga style wrestling is also being introduced as a main competition discipline for the first time at the national level. This historic inclusion marks a significant milestone for NWA and the wrestling fraternity of Nagaland.
The association expressed heartfelt gratitude to AITWPF for introducing Naga wrestling at the national stage, and also acknowledged the support of the Government of Nagaland and the Department of Youth Resources & Sports in making this achievement possible.
Senior Men: 100+ Kg: Venu Vadeo; 90 Kg: Thuputha Hesüh; 80 Kg: Seyiejalie Gwirie; 70 Kg: Wecho Watsa; 60 Kg: Thehiechülie Metha.
Senior Women: 75+ Kg: Vikehenuo Zumvü; 75 Kg: Luthulü Vezüh; 65 Kg: Haizuyile Zeliang; 55 Kg: Vekhonielü Cürhah.
Officials: Vivolie Kezo, Viketouzo Meyase, Keneilel Kevin Rote, Vekhriyi Chuzho, Seyielhoukho Sechü, Rangsilang Ikierimbe, and Seyielhouvi Nagi.
