Nagaland: Dubey, Rio discuss development, mining prospects

DIMAPUR, JAN 11 (NPN)

Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey on Sunday called on Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and held detailed discussions on the overall development of the state.
In a post on X, Dubey said the meeting was courteous, detailed and meaningful, during which they discussed various aspects of Nagaland’s development. He said that during his two-day visit to the state, he reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects and deliberated on possibilities in the mining sector.
According to Dubey, opportunities for local employment generation and sustainable development were specifically discussed with the chief minister. He added that the meeting also focused on further strengthening Centre-state coordination and ensuring effective implementation of various central government schemes.
Dubey said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central government would continue to work in collaboration with the state government for the all-round development of Nagaland, strengthening of infrastructure and regional progress.
Meanwhile, chief minister Neiphiu Rio, in a separate post on X, said it was a pleasure to meet and interact with Dubey. Rio said he warmly welcomed the Union minister’s visit and expressed hope that it would contribute to positive outcomes. He also wished Dubey a pleasant stay in Nagaland.
