Advenduro Northeast – Nagaland Edition X 2026, billed as India’s first multi-day, all-terrain endurance expedition and the Northeast’s toughest adventure ride, will be kicked off on January 26, 2026. This was announced during a press conference held at Hotel Crescent on Sunday. The event is a joint venture of Nagaland Adventure Club and Gorilla Moto.
Addressing the media, Burakum Ao, president of the Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC), said that for the first time, Northeast would host a 1,100–1,500 km endurance challenge that goes far beyond conventional road-based riding. He described Advenduro Northeast not merely as an event, but as a movement aimed at redefining adventure motorsports in the region.
Sunil Karnany of Gorilla Moto elaborated on the vision behind the initiative, stating that the primary objective was to establish Northeast as an epicentre of adventure motorsports. He said the event also seeks to highlight the region’s rugged geography, breathtaking landscapes, and rich cultural heritage, while creating a legacy of endurance and pride for future generations of riders.
He added that Advenduro Northeast aims to bring together riders, clubs, and local communities under a shared spirit of adventure and resilience.
Organisers informed that Advenduro Northeast – Nagaland Edition X 2026 will feature a DIY-style navigation format, with GPS-guided routes, no pre-defined tracks, mystery checkpoints, and an emphasis on self-reliant riding. Riders will engage in wilderness camping, cooking, trekking, and cultural interactions with indigenous communities along the route. The expedition will traverse mist-covered ridges, dense forests, river crossings, and tribal heartlands, making it a comprehensive test of courage, teamwork, stamina, and endurance.
Advisor of NAC and convenor of Advenduro Northeast – Nagaland Edition X 2026, Peter Rutsa, informed that the expedition would span three to five days across some of Nagaland’s most demanding terrains and would test riders through a combination of distance, terrain, and self-reliance. According to him, the event has been conceptualised to push physical and mental limits while showcasing the raw and untamed landscapes of the state.
He acknowledged that no movement could thrive without strong institutional and community support. He expressed gratitude to the event’s partners, including Social Awareness Partner Numaligarh Refinery Limited; Supported by Royal Field; Goodwill Partner 13th Assam Rifles; Media Partner Enigmatic Hills Production; and co-partners Nagaland Tourism, Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC), and Gorilla Moto.
He also acknowledged the role of content creator award partners, including TRAP Cars & Bike New Sect Road, Kohima; Uniglobe RE Showroom, Dimapur; and Kekhriezakie Kelio RE Showroom, Kohima.
Rutsa remarked that the support of sponsors, partners, media, security forces, tourism stakeholders, and adventure clubs was integral to ensuring that the expedition remains both fierce and safe, while projecting the Northeast as more than just a destination but a revelation.
He highlighted that the event is designed to offer riders a raw and transformative adventure, while providing clubs and communities an opportunity to strengthen bonds and showcase the spirit of Northeast riders. He said the initiative is also expected to contribute to tourism, promote cultural pride, and position Nagaland and the wider Northeast on the global adventure motorsports map.
He further informed that while interested participants would not be put to test for their driving skills they should be well experienced and also be able to repair minor vehicular problems on their own at the same time cook their own meals when required. He said for major vehicular issues the department of Tourism would provide help from point to point.
The organisers reiterated that Advenduro Northeast – Nagaland Edition X 2026 is envisioned as a collective journey rather than an individual pursuit, aimed at building a lasting legacy of endurance, adventure, and regional pride. They expressed hope that the initiative would inspire riders from across India and beyond to experience the Northeast as the beating heart of global adventure motorsports.
