A two-day special surgical camp under the Chief Minister’s Mobile Operation Theatre (CM-MOT) initiative, led by team leader Dr. Tseilhouto Rhutso, was held at Community Health Centre (CHC), Medziphema Town.
The camp, aimed at assisting poor patients unable to afford minor and major surgeries, will conclude on January 13.
Delivering a short speech at the programme, NPF 5 Ghaspani–II Assembly Constituency president, Thepfüselie Makritsu, expressed gratitude to advisor, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, whose efforts brought the CM-MOT team to Medziphema Town to benefit citizens and nearby villages.
He assured that party workers and officials would extend full cooperation to the team during their stay to help people of the constituency avail necessary medical care.
Dr. Rhutso highlighted the significance of the CM-MOT, launched on January 26, 2025, with the target of covering 25 locations by January 26, 2026. He stated that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was directly responsible for sanctioning the order to bring the mobile hospital to patients unable to reach hospitals and clinics due to lack of transportation.
He noted that many villagers, owing to lack of information and communication, could not access medical services under Ayushman Bharat and CMHIS, leading to the decision to take the hospital to them. He further informed that those unable to avail services at Medziphema Town till January 13 may do so at Dhansiripar on January 14.
The team will be visiting 25 locations in honour of the 25 years of service rendered by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to the people of Nagaland. Dr. Rhutso expressed gratitude to all team members, representing various tribes and serving in different capacities, for the success of the programme thus far.
The CHC Medziphema, under the leadership of SMO Dr. Meno Vüprü, continues to provide services to the people of Medziphema subdivision.
A short programme was organised by the District Administration, headed by ADC Medziphema Town, P. James Swu, as chairperson for the day, in honour of the arrival of the CM-MOT team. The programme was blessed by Baptist Church “A” Medziphema Town pastor, Rev. Zhabu Terhüjah, while HCMC CHC Medziphema chairman, Khrielie Terhüjah, delivered the welcome address.
