The 67th Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA) Meet 2026 continued on Monday with Day 3 events held across multiple venues in Kohima. Athletics competitions were conducted at IG Stadium, while basketball and volleyball league matches took place at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) ground and cricket league fixtures were played at the Meriema ground.
Athletics dominated the day as several meet records were rewritten. In the women’s 100 metres event, Rüduolhounuo Belho of T Khel clinched first place with a timing of 12.98 seconds, setting a new meet record. She followed it up with another record-breaking performance in the women’s 200 metres, clocking 26.41 seconds.
The men’s 800 metres produced a rare feat, with all three medal winners surpassing the previous meet record. Mhasiletuo Yhome of L Khel secured the gold medal with a timing of 2:00.85 minutes, followed by Lhouvisalie Mere of P Khel in 2:01.89 minutes, while Kevise Belho of T Khel finished third in 2:06.47 minutes.
In the field events, Dziesengunuo Solo of T Khel claimed the women’s triple jump title with a leap of 9.65 metres, establishing a new meet record. The men’s high jump saw Keneitseizo Belho of T Khel clear 1.85 metres to win the event and register another meet record.
League round matches in team sports also progressed across venues. In men’s cricket, Tsütuonumia Thinuo defeated Pfuchatsumia Thinuo in a league encounter decided by a Super Over at the Meriema ground, with L Khel recorded as the winning thinuo. Men’s football league action saw Daphütsumia Thinuo register a win over Lhisemia Thinuo.
In the basketball league, Daphütsumia Thinuo defeated Lhisemia Thinuo in the women’s category, while Lhisemia Thinuo overcame Pfuchatsumia Thinuo in the men’s category.
Volleyball league matches saw Daphütsumia Thinuo defeat Lhisemia Thinuo in the women’s event, while Pfuchatsumia Thinuo edged past Tsütuonumia Thinuo in the men’s category.
As per the latest Thinuo medal tally, Tsütuonumia leads the gold medal standings with five gold medals, along with four silver and three bronze medals for a total of 12 medals. Daphütsumia follows closely with four gold, four silver and six bronze medals, taking its total to 14 medals, while Lhisemia has secured six medals. Pfuchatsumia has so far claimed one silver medal.
With league rounds continuing and several events still to be contested, the medal standings remain open as the 67th KVSA Meet 2026 moves into its next phase.
