NSCN (I-M) hails SC verdict on Alemla Jamir’s release

DIMAPUR, JAN 13 (NPN)

NSCN (I-M) on Tuesday expressed sincere gratitude to the legal team for their hard work and unwavering patience in securing justice for Alemla Jamir.
In a statement, NSCN (I-M) through its MIP said that for a woman who was incarcerated for six years, the period was a severe test of endurance and patience, during which the spirit of resilience refused to die. It said that securing her release was no less a challenge for the legal team.
It acknowledged the dedication of senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Tanveer Ahmed Mir for what it described as their commendable performance within constitutional rights and principles to secure the release of a woman who had undergone six years of incarceration.
The organisation also acknowledged the role of the Supreme Court of India, stating that the apex court demonstrated that justice was served to Alemla Jamir by upholding constitutional principles.
Lauding Alemla’s personal strength, NSCN (I-M) said great is the person whose dignity and integrity remain intact without any sign of wavering, and saluted Alemla Jamir for upholding the spirit of resilience and strength during her six years in jail.
