Appreciating the state government and the home department for the ongoing police recruitment drive across the state, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has, however, strongly stressed that the entire recruitment process must be conducted with the highest standards of transparency, fairness and accountability.
In a press release, NSF president Mteisuding and general secretary Kenilo Kent acknowledged the efforts of the state government in addressing long-standing vacancies in the police force and for creating employment opportunities for deserving Naga youth.
The federation expressed belief that a strong, professional and well-equipped police force was vital for ensuring public confidence in the institutions of governance. In this regard, NSF said the present recruitment process was a significant step towards strengthening the policing system in the State.
NSF, however, asserted that meritocracy must be strictly upheld at every stage of selection, ensuring that only deserving and qualified candidates were selected without any form of favouritism, nepotism or undue influence.
Further, the federation urged the home department and all responsible agencies to ensure that the recruitment process was completed in a time-bound manner.
NSF has affirmed to closely observe the process in the interest of justice, fairness and transparency. The federation expressed hope that the state government would set a benchmark through this recruitment drive by upholding integrity and efficiency, thereby inspiring confidence among the people of the state.
