The 13th edition of the Khrietho Club Football Tournament commenced on Thursday at the Khutsokhuno local ground under the Tizu area of Phek district.
The opening ceremony was marked by the flag hoisting, performed by Khutsokhuno Village Council chairman Veduyi Rhakho. The flag de-hoisting ceremony will be graced by youth president of Khutsokhuno, Zacipa Vero, on January 16.
A total of five teams have registered for the tournament, which will conclude on Friday. The competition offers attractive cash prizes, with the champion set to receive Rs. 1 lakh.
The first runner-up will be awarded Rs. 60,000, while the second, third and fourth position holders will receive Rs. 40,000, Rs. 30,000, and Rs. 20,000 respectively.
The tournament is supported by several patrons, including GT, GPS Khutsokhuno, Vesuzolu; VCM Nuvohu Rhakho, Vecizo Rhakho, Zashevoyi Sapuh, Nuveto Sapuh, attendant PHC Khutsokhuno, and Yiratu Rhakho.
