SML 3: Lhomithi SC,Esa Warriors register convincing wins

DIMAPUR, JAN 17 (NPN)

The third edition of the SML witnessed two exciting encounters as Lhomithi SC and Esa Warriors recorded emphatic victories in their respective matches.
Kohima Legends won the toss and elected to bat, posting a competitive 165/2 in 20 overs. Thejaselhou Yhome anchored the innings with a fluent 67, while Veri (39) and Tapito Thupitopr (27) provided valuable support.
In reply, Lhomithi SC produced a commanding performance, chasing down the target with ease. Enam Uddin stole the show with a scintillating century — the first of SML 3 — guiding his side to 168/2 and sealing a convincing win. His match-winning knock earned him the Man of the Match award.
In the second match, Esa Warriors opted to bat first and managed 137/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Useful contributions from the top order ensured a defendable total.
Kohima Old Boys faltered in their chase as the top order collapsed early. Despite a fighting 49 from Khriesamhalie Yhome, the lack of support at the other end proved costly. Esa’s bowling attack delivered a clinical display, with Rakesh leading the charge through a brilliant 4-wicket haul. Alongba and Raza chipped in with three wickets apiece, dismantling the opposition and securing victory. Rakesh was named Man of the Match for his decisive spell.
