Nagaland: 28th LSA Sports Meet witnesses thrilling football and volleyball clashes

DIMAPUR, JAN 18 (NPN)

The 28th Liangmai Sports Association (LSA) Sports Meet continued with an action-packed day of fixtures on Saturday at Samziuram Village, Peren district, featuring competitive encounters in both football and volleyball. The events were conducted smoothly under the aegis of the Liangmai Sports Association (LSA).
The knockout stage of the men’s football tournament produced several exciting matches – Tening Village defeated Malek FC 2–0. Nallong FC outplayed Lower Dikiuram 4–1. Nchangram edged past Bena Tababang with a 2–1 win. Host team SPO Samziuram dominated Tapon Chuncham 3–0. Chiang FC registered a convincing 3–0 victory over Mhaikam. Makhan overcame Oklong Nguang in a tie-breaker (3–2) after a 1–1 draw in regulation time. NTU (NYO) displayed strong form, defeating Chawangkining 5–1. Kuilong-1 clinched a narrow win over LYO Jalukie Town in a tie-breaker (5–4) after a draw in regular time.
The women’s volleyball pre-quarter finals also saw competitive matches: Kadi United defeated Konsaram. Nchangram Namsan overcame Jalukie Town in a close contest. Ntu (NYO) beat SPO ‘B’. Mhaikam won against Tepun. Kadi United continued their winning run by defeating Nchangram.
Men’s volleyball fixtures added to the excitement of the day: Asiluang defeated Taniulong. Nchangram emerged victorious against Chiang. Ntu (NYO) won their match against Ramtinglung. Oklong Nguang secured a win over Makhan.
The day’s matches reflected the competitive spirit of the participating teams and highlighted the enthusiasm of players and spectators alike.
