The 28th Liangmai Sports Association (LSA) Sports Meet at Samziuram Village witnessed a day of thrilling competition as the badminton events concluded with champions crowned across categories, while crucial knockout matches in football and volleyball intensified the race for the titles.
Athletes and teams showcased remarkable skill, discipline and sportsmanship, keeping spectators engaged throughout the day.
The badminton events produced high-quality contests with standout performances.
Men’s Singles: Peramrisi clinched gold, defeating Phenriwibo.
Men’s Doubles: Peramrisi paired with Khangkhang to secure gold, while Sidibou and Wisiak settled for silver.
Women’s Singles: Paudinchap emerged champion, overcoming Kungni.
Women’s Doubles: Paudinchap teamed with Withoiluliu to win gold, ahead of Aziliu and Widinkamlak.
Mixed Doubles: Manlungbo and Aziliu claimed the top spot, with Phenriwi and Paukendinliu finishing runners-up.
Veterans’ Singles: N. K. Kaisungbou took gold, defeating Ngamrai Chawang.
Veterans’ Doubles: Manlungbo and Namsilung secured victory, while Dinchapbo and Mosa earned silver.
Excitement ran high in the football arena, in the men’s quarterfinals, Ntu Youth Club edged past Kuilong-1 FC in a tightly contested clash. Chiang Youth Club advanced after a dramatic tie-breaker win against Makhen Youth Club.
In women’s semifinals, SPO Samziuram booked their place in the final with a win over Kadi United. Konsaram Youth followed suit, defeating Nzau Youth Club in a thrilling encounter.
The volleyball semifinals set up mouth-watering finals. In women’s volleyball, Nchangram Namsan overcame Ntu Youth, while Mhaikam Youth defeated Kadi United to secure their spots in the final.
In the men’s volleyball, Nchangram powered past Asiluang, and Oklong Nguang sealed their place in the final by defeating Ntu Youth Club.
The day’s events highlighted the competitive spirit of the LSA Sports Meet, with finalists now set across football and volleyball and badminton champions celebrated for their outstanding performances. The tournament continues to build momentum as teams and athletes vie for glory at Samziuram.
