Taking note of the safe release of Kiyeto Zhimomi, head GB of Vikuho Village and businessman, following his abduction, the state deputy chief minister Y Patton, who also hold home portfolio, Tuesday reiterated that abduction and violence were unacceptable and would not be tolerated.
In a press release, media cell of Dy CM’s office said the deputy chief minister has expressed relief that the kidnapped businessman has been released and was now under care.
The deputy chief minister also appreciated Nagaland police for their swift and prompt action, which led to the release of Zhimomi. He said such timely intervention reflected the commitment of the police force to uphold public safety and respond decisively to acts of violence and intimidation.
The deputy chief minister assured that the authorities would proceed in accordance with established procedures as the situation develops.
The deputy chief minister also affirmed that government remained committed to ensuring accountability through lawful means.
