Nagaland: Medical camp conducted at Changlangshu

DIMAPUR

The Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Mon district branch, conducted a free medical camp on January 20 at Changlangshu Village under Mon district. The medical camp was organized with the objective of providing essential healthcare services to people living in remote and interior villages.
In a press release Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch, general secretary, Akhale V Khamo informed that the medicines for the camp were generously donated by the National Health Mission (NHM) and the AYUSH Directorate under the Department of Health & Family Welfare (DHFW), Government of Nagaland.
The camp commenced with a formal programme, following which medical services were rendered to the patients. Doctors and nurses deputed by the Health Department, along with ASHA health workers, Red Cross volunteers, and volunteers from the respective villages, actively participated and extended their support to the camp.
Patients from seven villages including, Changlangshu, Changsa, Bumei, Monyakshu, Monyakshu Town, Meinchangle, and Yongkhao attended the medical camp. Over 300 patients benefited from free medical check-ups and free distribution of medicines during the camp.
In addition to the medical services, first aid training was also imparted to the youth from the villages to equip them with basic emergency response skills, enabling them to provide immediate assistance during accidents or medical emergencies.
