Nagaland: 34th LKM Sports Festival to be held at Chuchuyimlang

DIMAPUR, JAN 20 (NPN)

The 34th edition of the Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) Sports Festival will be held on January 29 and 30, at the Langpangkong Tzükong Government High School Ground, Chuchuyimlang headquarters.
The festival is being hosted by the Chuchuyimlang Village Council and the Chuchuyimlang Students’ Union, with the Planning Committee led by Imkongtemsu Jamir as convenor and the Local Planning Committee headed by Rongsenlemla.
Highlighting the legacy of the tournament, president of LKM, Imlinok, along with Sports Secretary, Imtinuklu Jamir, stated that the Langpangkong tournament is among the oldest sports events in the region, tracing its origin back to 1942. In recognition of its rich heritage and historical importance, it has been officially renamed as the Langpangkong Kaketshir Mungdang Sports Festival.
Convenor Imkongtemsu Jamir informed that all necessary preparations are in progress and appealed to affiliated units, athletes, volunteers and well-wishers to extend full cooperation for the smooth and successful conduct of the festival.
The festival is expected to bring together athletes and communities from across the region, fostering unity and celebrating the long-standing tradition of sportsmanship in Langpangkong.
A preparatory meeting was recently held at the Langpangkong Tzükong Government High School Ground, attended by members of the 34th LKM Sports Festival Planning Committee, the Local Planning Committee, and the LKM Office.
