Nagaland: Rhieo Kickers Meriema win BBC open penalty shootout

DIMAPUR, JAN 20 (NPN)

Rhieo Kickers, Meriema emerged champions of the Bethel Baptist Church (BBC), New Market, Kohima Open Penalty Shootout held at the Indira Gandhi (IG) Stadium, Kohima, on Tuesday.
In the tournament, Rhieo Kickers, Meriema clinched the championship title, while Cola FC, Meriema finished as runners-up. Unica FC and DYRS Team reached the semi-finals. The Best Goalkeeper award was bagged by Kevizakie Ciesotsu.
The inaugural programme was graced by pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church, Neibalie Kiewhuo, as the special guest. The event was chaired by Dr. Eastrose Miachieo, while the invocation was pronounced by Chaplain of Bethel Baptist Church, Neichalie Pfusenuo. A special song presented by Atoka Swu added a devotional touch to the opening ceremony.
The closing function was graced by Deacon Board Chairman of Eklektos Baptist Church, Kohima, Kuolachalie Seyie, as the honoured guest. The programme was compered by Dr. Eastrose Miachieo and Thekakhwelie Rurhia.
The competition, hosted by Bethel Baptist Church, brought together teams in a spirited display of sportsmanship and community engagement, marking a successful edition of the Open Penalty Shootout.
