Nagaland coaches to join World Athletics CECS Level 1 Course

DIMAPUR, JAN 21 (NPN)

Two athletics coaches from the Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) will take part in the World Athletics Coaches Education and Certification System (CECS) Level 1 Course being organized by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) from January 21 to 26, 2026, at the SAI Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala.
The participating coaches, Asakho and Inoto, are active trainers who have already completed their Pre-Level 1 courses, thereby qualifying for this prestigious certification programme. Their inclusion in the course marks a significant step forward in enhancing the professional standards of athletics coaching in Nagaland.
The CECS Level 1 Course, conducted by AFI at multiple locations across the country, aims to upgrade coaching competencies and align methodologies with international standards set by World Athletics. By equipping coaches with modern techniques and knowledge, the programme seeks to strengthen grassroots development and raise the overall quality of athletics training in India.
For Nagaland, the participation of its coaches in such nationally and internationally recognized courses is expected to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the sport. The Nagaland Athletics Association has consistently encouraged the professional development of its coaches and officials, underscoring its commitment to nurturing talent and promoting athletics in the state.
