The Western Angami ‘D’ Youth Organisation (WADYO) concluded the Naga Wrestling Meet 2026 at Sechüma village, showcasing strong participation and spirited competition in both Senior and Junior categories.
In the senior category, Neikerhezo Zhünyü of Sechü Zubza emerged as the champion, while Kedizelhou Zhünyü, also from Sechü Zubza, secured the second position. Thepfüsahu Kuotsu of Mengujuma finished third, followed by Neikhotso Nagi of Sechü Zubza in fourth place.
The junior category (Under-15) witnessed a dominant performance by wrestlers from Sechü Zubza. Metseilhoukho Zhünyü clinched the champion’s title, with Thejasezo Sechü and Vikuosa Nipu securing second and third positions respectively. Kevisekho Nagi, also from Sechü Zubza, finished fourth.
Organised as part of WADYO’s initiative to promote traditional Naga wrestling and encourage youth participation in indigenous sports, the meet was marked by enthusiastic support from the community. Officials, referees and members of the organising committee ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
