An awareness meeting on Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Pension and Insurance benefits was conducted on January 23 at the EPFO Special State Office, United Colony, Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, for NGOs and societies. The programme witnessed participation from several prominent NGOs operating in the region.
Addressing the gathering, Samuel Das, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Nagaland, explained the legal framework of the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions (EPF & MP) Act, 1952, along with the schemes framed under it. He highlighted the importance of extending social security coverage to employees working in NGOs and societies.
During the session, incentives and waivers available under PM-VBRY and the Employee Enrolment Programme, 2025 were elaborated, outlining benefits for both employers and employees.
It was deliberated that similar awareness programmes would be organised in future to cover more NGOs and societies, enabling wider coverage of social security benefits while the schemes remain operational.
