National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, donated two ambulances under its CSR initiative to PHC Tizit and PHC Wakching.
Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, expressed gratitude to NHIDCL for the generous gesture and handed over the keys of the ambulances to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Mon. He urged that the vehicles be used judiciously and with a sense of ownership to cater to the needs of the people. CMO, Mon, thanked NHIDCL for the donation, stating that the ambulances would significantly strengthen the district’s emergency response system, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas. He noted that timely transportation of patients to healthcare facilities is crucial in saving lives, and the initiative would benefit pregnant women, elderly patients, accident victims and individuals requiring urgent medical attention.
It may be mentioned that NHIDCL had earlier donated 24 Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances to the Government of Nagaland in April 2021 and four more ambulances to the Nagaland Police in October 2021. The ambulances were flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner to their respective locations.
