Nagaland: Patkai hosts campus film festival 5.0

Patkai Christian College’s Department of Mass Communication inaugurated the fifth edition of the three-day Campus Film Festival 5.0 at the iconic Bundrock Chapel on January 22.
During the opening session, principal Thepfuvilie Pierü lauded the faculty and students of mass communication for their lively and creative decor that brightened the campus atmosphere.
A press release stated that the inaugural was followed by a filmmaking and photography workshop presented by Sony, one of the festival’s key collaborators. Sony C-Pro Specialist,Md. Noor Alam, led the first session, offering expert insights on camera technology. He covered essentials of photography and cinematography, exploring different cameras and lenses, and emphasized the importance of understanding the relationship between subject and background to create balanced and visually striking compositions.
The second session featured Sony Alpha Specialist, Saroj Kumar Dora who spoke on the endless journey of learning in the creative field. He described filmmaking as a beautiful, ongoing adventure and screened a travel video to illustrate the seamless blend of creativity and technical skill.
The highlight of the second day will be a workshop on film production with filmmaker from Meghalaya, Tyrel Reuben Lyngdoh,as the resource person.
Later that evening, the festival showcased eight short films from filmmakers across the Northeast, bringing diverse stories to the screen.
