Nagaland: Kohima Dynamic clinches NBCK Gold Cup

Kohima Dynamic Cricket Club lifted the NBCK Gold Cup 50-Ball Cricket Tournament after defeating Raptors by a commanding 100 runs in the final played at Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School Ground, Kohima, on Saturday.
The three-day six-a-side tennis ball tournament, organised by Nepali Baptist Church (NBC), Kohima as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, saw the participation of 18 teams.
Batting first in the final, Kohima Dynamic posted a formidable 188 runs, while Raptors were restricted to 88 runs. The champions received a cash prize of Rs 25,000 along with a trophy and medals, while the runners-up were awarded Rs 15,000 with trophy and medals. Vishal of Kohima Dynamic was adjudged Man of the Series, scoring 212 runs and claiming six wickets. He also bagged the Best Batter award with Rs 2,000 and a trophy. The Best Bowler award went to Anil Gurung for his six wickets in the tournament. Tapu of Kohima Dynamic was named Man of the Match in the final for his unbeaten 99 runs, receiving Rs 1,000 sponsored by Vizoto Hibo, Commandant of 4th NAP, along with a medal.
The two other semi-finalists were NBC Zubza and Youngsters CC. Gracing the valedictory function, Santu Thapa, president of Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima, lauded the organisers for their initiative and contribution towards promoting sports in the community..
Encouraging the players for their enthusiasm and sportsmanlike conduct, he said whether you won or did not win, remember that every match played and every effort made is a victory in itself. The GPPK president along with the Board Chairman of NBC Kohima & Convener Golden Jubilee Dr Gopal Basnet, Pastor Jack Thapa and Convener of Golden Jubilee Sports Committee Narayan Bahadur handed over the prizes to the winners.
The valedictory session compered by Convener Golden Jubilee Convener Committee, John Thakuri started with scripture reading & prayer former Pastor NBCK Surjay B Sapkota while Church Secretary Uttam Thapa pronounced benediction.
