Nagaland: TaFMA undertakes creative arts immersion tour to Mumbai

The Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) is undertaking a Creative Arts Immersion Tour to Mumbai from January 24 to 26 as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the creative ecosystem in Nagaland.
According to a DIPR report, the delegation comprises representatives from all districts of Nagaland, along with the chairman and project director of TaFMA. Conceived as a capacity-building and exposure initiative, the tour aims to familiarise district-level representatives with India’s leading creative, cultural and contemporary arts ecosystems, while reinforcing TaFMA’s work in nurturing music, visual arts, live performance and creative entrepreneurship across the state.
A key highlight of the programme is the delegation’s visit to Lollapalooza India, one of the world’s largest music festivals. This year’s edition holds special significance as Trance Effect becomes the first band from Nagaland to perform on the Lollapalooza main stage, marking a historic milestone for the state’s contemporary music journey on a global platform.
During the tour, the delegation will visit prominent cultural and public landmarks in Mumbai, including the Jehangir Art Gallery, the Gateway of India and museums along Marine Drive. The schedule also includes official interactions and dialogues with renowned artists and practitioners from India’s creative industries, aimed at facilitating knowledge exchange, exploring collaboration models and gaining insights into best practices for managing cultural institutions and live arts platforms.
Addressing the media, TaFMA chairman Theja Meru expressed gratitude to Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio for his vision and continued support. He also conveyed appreciation to Air India Express for sponsoring the travel of the entire delegation.
