State Transport department said it has taken serious note of allegations circulating on social media and section of the print media that the office of the General Manager, Nagaland State Transport (NST), reportedly demanded unauthorised fees from selected candidates in the recent Departmental Recruitment Board process.
In a press note , addl secretary Athrila S Sangtam clarified that the department has neither issued any directive nor authorised any official to collect money for paperwork.
In view of the allegations, additional secretary said the department would constitute a Departmental Inquiry Committee to investigate the matter thoroughly.
Sangtam said advisor for transport has also directed the department to immediately set up the inquiry committee to look into the matter.
The additional secretary assured that necessary disciplinary action would be initiated based on the committee’s findings.
