Western Sümi Hoho (WSH), Western Sümi Kukami Hoho (WSKH), and Western Sümi Youth Front (WSYF) have reconsidered their earlier 48-hour ultimatum served on NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Vusshe) following compliance on three of four demands related to the January 19, 2026 abduction and assault of ato kukau Kiyeto Zhimomi of Vikuho village.
In a joint statement, WSH president Vikato K. Achumi, WSKH president Khehovi Chophy and WSYF president Atokiho Sumi acknowledged the group’s compliance on the apology, surrender/arrest of those involved, and retraction of the mediation claim.
However, the signatories said that fourth demand– shifting the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell (CFMC) from Thilixu village- was being reconsidered in good faith, recognizing that CFMC functioning involves third-party stakeholders (Ceasefire Supervisory Board, State Government, and other authorities). WSH, WSKH and its frontal organisations have, however, affirmed that any future violation, repetition of such acts, or misuse of the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell would invite zero tolerance, and no compromise or reconsideration would be entertained thereafter.
The organizations issued “a final and unambiguous warning” to all factions operating in Western Sümi inhabited areas, irrespective of their status or affiliations: If any member or office-bearer of the Western Sumi Hoho, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho or any of its frontal organisations and any Bonafide Sümi or the general Naga society is touched, intimidated, abducted, harassed, assaulted, or threatened in any manner whatsoever in the future, the WSH, WSKH and all the frontals shall not tolerate it under any circumstances.
WSH and WSKH along with all the frontal organisations affirmed to initiate actions deemed necessary and appropriate, collectively and decisively, to safeguard the dignity, safety, and authority of its people and institutions, without any conditions.
