Minister for PHED & Co-operation, Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated the newly constructed office building complex of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Niuland, on January 26, in the presence of DC Niuland, Sara S. Jamir; Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Aotula T. Imchen; DCP Niuland, Manish Bhartiya; officials and public leaders.
Addressing the inaugural programme, Jacob expressed gratitude to the Central Government for catering to the specific needs of the state and congratulated the Home Department, engineering wings and contractors for the timely completion of the project. He said his aspiration to make Niuland a model district was not limited to physical infrastructure but also required citizens to be good, friendly, honest and responsible, stressing collective responsibility as the way forward for peace and prosperity.
According to the technical report presented by Er. Hutoshe Awomi, EE PEP Chümoukedima, construction of the DCP office began in September 2023 and was completed in June 2025 under the Government of India’s Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) Phase I & II. The office complex includes barracks and staff quarters, with a total project cost of Rs. 592.976 lakh.
Earlier, CP Dimapur, Aotula T. Imchen, delivered a short speech, while ADCP Niuland, C. Apong Yimchunger, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was chaired by DCP Niuland, Manish Bhartiya.
