Nagaland: NFA mourns the passing of P. Mongchua

DIMAPUR, JAN 27 (NPN)

The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) has expressed profound grief over the demise of P. Mongchua, a respected former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and father of the NFA general secretary and MLA, Benei M. Lamtihu. He passed away at his residence in Tuensang on January 26, 2026.
In an official condolence message, NFA paid tribute to Lt. Mongchua’s legacy as a dedicated public leader and acknowledged his contributions to the people of Nagaland. He previously served as the MLA representing the 57-Thonoknyu Assembly Constituency and was widely regarded as a significant and fatherly figure in the state’s political landscape.
“The football fraternity of Nagaland mourns his loss and stands in solidarity with the bereaved family during this hour of immense grief,” the message read. The association also extended heartfelt prayers for strength and solace to the family, especially to Benei M. Lamtihu, who continues to serve both the football community and the people of Nagaland in his dual role.
The NFA prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
