Nagaland: Bharat Ko Jano Yatra chain programme at Tseminyu

DIMAPUR

The Bharat Ko Jano Yatra chain programme was held at Tseminyu Town on January 28, organized by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Nagaland.
The programme aimed to promote national integration and cultural awareness. Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, Japhet Woch graced the occasion as special guest and highlighted the historical ties between the Rengma community and Tai Ahom of Assam.
The event featured vibrant cultural performances by Tseminyu Village Men Cultural Troupe, Tai Education Initiative (Mariam, Assam), Phenwhenyu and Gujü Village Cultural Troupe, Kandi Village Cultural Troupe, and Tseminyu Village Women Cultural Troupe.
Around 320 attendees including students and members of the public participated in the programme. Dignitaries from Rengma Hoho, Rengma Women Organization, Rengma Students Union, and Rengma G.B Association were also present.
The programme was anchored by Jolly Thyu, with invocation prayer by Akokla Sanglir, Associate Pastor, Women Department, Tseminyu Ao Baptist Church. Welcome address was delivered by Senilo Kath, ARO, Kohima, while the keynote address was presented by Teisovikuolie Therie, Deputy Director, Department of Art and Culture. Vote of thanks was proposed by Haichenlo Kath, District Cultural Officer, Kohima. The event stood as a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage and its enduring commitment to national unity.
