Nagaland University football team will participate in the All India Inter-University Football (Men) AIU Tournament 2025-26, scheduled to be held at the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, from January 30 to February 9.
The team qualified for the national-level tournament after securing fourth position in the AIU North East Zone University Championship, which was held from January 5 to 11, 2026, at Royal Global University, Guwahati, Assam. As per the format, the top four teams from each zone earn a place in the All India Inter-University Football Tournament.
Outstanding performers from this prestigious event will have the opportunity to advance further to represent India at the Asian University Games and World University Games.
The Nagaland University squad is led by coach Watimenba Longchar, with Managers Mesanguto Meru, Assistant Director (Sports), and Dr. Harish Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Director (Sports), overseeing the team’s participation.
