The Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) has issued a public notice warning of necessary action against any extortion or illegal taxation by Naga Political Groups (NPGs) within Phek Town.
In a notice signed by PTYS President Seyengoi Soho and General Secretary Vechihu Khamo, the organisation said it supported the decision amended by the Phek Town Public Forum (PTPF) to put on hold all taxation to NPGs from 2026 onwards, in strict adherence to Para 3 of the State Government order dated April 29, 2024.
PTYS emphasized that the notice was issued in the interest of public welfare and peaceful coexistence. It also urged all NPGs to unite and strengthen the Naga national movement in good faith, citing the proliferation of multiple factions claiming to represent a single Naga aspiration.
