Sunetra Pawar on Saturday became Maharashtra’s first woman deputy chief minister and was allotted excise, sports, minority development and Aukaf portfolios, while finance and planning went to the chief minister.
The swearing-in followed the death of her husband Ajit Pawar in an air crash. She resigned from Rajya Sabha and is expected to contest the bye-poll to Baramati constituency represented by her late husband.
