Advisory on dengue transmission window in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, JAN 31 (NPN)

National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), directorate of Health & Family Welfare, has informed the public and all stakeholders that January 30 to February 12, 2026, has been identified as a potential transmission window for dengue in major districts of Nagaland, based on inputs from the India Meteorological Department, Climate Research and Services, Pune.
NVBDCP said favourable climatic conditions during this period may promote mosquito breeding and increase the risk of dengue transmission. Authorities have urged districts, communities, and stakeholders to remain vigilant and strengthen preventive and control measures.
The public has been advised to strictly follow preventive measures, including eliminating stagnant water around homes, covering water storage containers, using mosquito nets, repellents, and window screens, wearing full-sleeved clothing, especially during early morning and evening, and seeking immediate medical attention if symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, joint and muscle pain, or rash develop.
NVBDCP appealed to all citizens to cooperate fully and actively participate in dengue prevention efforts to safeguard individual and community health. For further information, the public may contact the nearest health facility.
