The All Nagaland Kachari Students’ Union (ANKSU) conducted its election on January 10 in accordance with the ANKSU Constitution, successfully electing a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2026–2029.
The newly elected office bearers were formally sworn in during a meeting of the Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN) held on January 31, where the handing-over and taking-over ceremony was also conducted.
The new ANKSU team will be led by president Hamrongdao Difoe, with vice presidents Vicky Mech and Lairing Jigdung. Other members of the executive body include general secretary Sobir Kumar Mech, joint secretaries Faihamti Longmailai and Mirkhan Dev Mech, finance secretary-cum-treasurer Phalang Jigdong, social and cultural secretaries Pooja Naiding and Dinesh Mech, and reception-cum-organising secretary Sunny Mech.
Extending its congratulations, the Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland expressed confidence that the newly elected team will work with dedication and integrity for the welfare of the student community. KTCN further stated that the new leadership would serve as the conscience of the Kachari youth in Nagaland—preserving roots, safeguarding community interests, empowering young minds and shaping a dignified and progressive future for the community.
